General information

Students at Churchill College study both national and international academic programmes at the same time. They graduate with two diplomas: The CCH diploma from the UNAM and the International Baccalaureate Diploma from the IB

Almost all courses at Churchill College are delivered in English. There are a maximum of two subjects each year taught in Spanish (IGCSE and IB Spanish as well as some UNAM CCH courses). Our academic programme is summarized in the diagram below:

The size of the teaching and tutor groups is of key importance at the College. In order to achieve our vision, we believe that teachers must be able to give personalized attention to the needs of individual students. Class sizes are between 5 and 23 students, depending on the subject options that the students chose to study. Such individual attention allows all staff to really know the academic and personal needs of each student. This, we believe, gives us a huge advantage over other high schools which have larger classes.

Evaluation

Students are monitored consistently to ensure that every individual is making progress and receiving help when needed. For this, a computerised system is used to record grades, for classwork as well as homework, on a weekly basis. Tutors have access to this information, they are always on hand for their students and show them the results every week. In this way, the student has the opportunity to improve, based on the results obtained, thus avoiding problems in the future.

Assessment

Student performance is consistently evaluated to ensure important development is taking place, and to constantly provide the necessary support. To assist with this, we use a computerised system where grades for both homework and in-class work are recorded weekly. Tutors have access to this information and are always available to the students. Therefore, students have the opportunity for continuous improvement and can avoid confusion regarding their immediate grades.
