Churchill School’s Admissions Policy (2)

CHURCHILL SCHOOL & COLLEGE

2025 Admissions Policy

Objective

The admissions policy of Churchill School & College outlines the general procedure and the necessary requirements for student enrollment.

The admissions process is aligned with the educational model of Churchill School & College, as it evaluates candidates in a comprehensive manner and recognises the importance of involving the family in the student’s educational journey.

We understand that choosing the best educational option for your children is one of the most important decisions a family can make. For Churchill School & College, each new admission to our educational community represents a long-term mutual commitment between the student, their family and the School. This relationship must be based on collaboration and respect and should bring lasting benefits to the student, their family and the School itself.

We trust that through our admissions process, both families and the School can determine whether Churchill School & College is the best fit for each individual.

By becoming part of Churchill School & College, families understand that we offer a comprehensive education through our academic, wellness and prevention programs. Therefore, all students, without exception, participate in the activities, conferences and workshops organised by the School & College.

At Churchill School & College, we promote a balance between academic performance and the development of socioemotional skills in our students. As such, there are no merit-based scholarship programs. The School does offer a support system through SEP scholarships for families who unexpectedly face extraordinary circumstances that temporarily affect their financial stability. This support is granted for one academic year and is available starting from the second year of enrollment at the School, in any grade except for Maternal and Pre-first.

General Procedure

Waiting List

The school maintains a waiting list for admission to the following academic year, beginning on the first business day of September.

Children of Churchill School & College staff, as well as siblings of current students and children of alumni, are given priority on the waiting list, in that order.

We are open to receiving applications from families interested in enrolling during the current school year, subject to availability.

Follow-up and information related to the admissions process will only be provided to the student’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) listed on the waiting list.

Churchill School & College is an inclusive institution that respects and values the individuality of each applicant. Therefore, the admissions evaluation process is comprehensive.

The decision made by the area leadership team regarding a candidate’s admission is final. If the family disagrees with the outcome of the admission process, they may request a meeting with the area leadership team.

Churchill School & College offers an induction for new families before the start of the school year. Families are invited to talks and/or workshops where they can learn more about internal communication, daily operations and procedures within the school, as well as begin to familiarise themselves with the Churchill community.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS: 10 Steps to get started NOTA: en el texto abajo no se definen cuáles son los 10 pasos -

All families interested in beginning the admissions process for their children must:

  1. As a required first step, register the child on the waiting list through the Churchill website. Visit www.churchill.edu.mx, select the Admissions tab, go to the Waiting List section, complete and submit the form.

  2. Wait for a confirmation email from the Admissions Department.

  3. Attend an informational meeting organised by the Admissions Department or take a tour of the school, where you will not only explore our facilities but also receive information about our educational model and daily life at the school & College.

In the event there are available spaces, interested families will be contacted and invited to continue with the admissions process, which consists of the following:

4. Exam (from 1st grade of Primary through 3rd year of College [High School]) with a cost of $1,850, which is non-refundable, regardless of whether the student is ultimately enrolled or not. This fee must be paid before the exam date.
5. Visiting day
6. Family interview
7. Psycho-pedagogical evaluation

Additionally, for admission from 1st grade of Primary through 3rd year of College [High School], the following documents must be submitted in order to continue the process and correctly assign the appropriate grade level:

  • Academic report
  • Socio-emotional skills report
  • Report card from the last completed school year
  • Partial report card (if entering mid-year)
  • Letter of no outstanding debt
  • Letter of good behaviour

To begin the admissions process, it is necessary to pay the admissions exam fee for students applying from 1st grade of Primary to 3rd year of Secondary. This step applies to all families, including new applicants, alumni and siblings of current students at the school who are starting their admissions process.

* Completing these exams does not guarantee the candidate’s admission. It is one of the requirements for admission and part of the evaluation process. If the school or the family decides not to continue with the process, this payment is non-refundable.

Evaluation:

How we evaluate each applicant:

  • Family Interview: Conducted virtually or in person, the interview is held with a member of the leadership team of the corresponding school area. Depending on the grade level, it may be conducted with just the guardians or with the student present. The admissions department will specify which applies in each case.

  • Admissions Exam (applicable from 1st grade of Primary to 3rd year of College).

  • Visiting Day: The student spends a day attending regular classes in their current grade. During this day, a psycho-pedagogical evaluation is conducted.

Notification of the School’s Decision:
Once all steps have been completed, the School/College will notify the family of the decision, taking into account the entire admissions process as a whole.

Submitting documents:
Once the student is accepted, the family commits to submitting the following documents no more than 10 business days after having been notified. If the documents are not submitted on time and in the proper format and/or if emails requesting the information are not responded to within this period, the process will be closed. If the family wishes to continue, they will need to register again on the waiting list, with the understanding that new applicants may be ahead of them.

You must hand all the documents the Admissions area requires. The information must be signed and delivered with the Admissions teams specifications.

Once all documentation is completely and correctly submitted, the admissions department will generate payment slips for the following:

  • Enrollment Fee
  • Registration Fee (per family) *Except for Maternal and Churchill families
  • Educational Services

This is an annual fee that includes all materials students will use throughout the school year, such as notebooks, textbooks, online platforms, art supplies, lab materials, educational field trips and medical and orphan insurance. All materials are provided at the beginning of the school year.

Tuition

Can be paid monthly, semi-annually, or annually. Discounts are available for semi-annual and annual payments.
